St. Louis Missouri Temple

Temple #41
St. Louis, Missouri
October 24, 2015

Our weekend trip continued on!  We had just done the Kansas City Temple and loved it. We were having a blast, and having spiritual experiences constantly. We were so excited to go across the wonderful State of Missouri clear to St. Louis, and see what was there. We didn't have a lot of time, trying to squeeze everything into a weekend and all, so we sped on through the heart of the state.
When we arrived in St. Louis we immediately went to the Temple. It was easy to find, and was on a small hill right next to a major highway. It's amazing how the Church has managed to put so many of the Temples in the best of places; on hills and by major roads. The major roads may seem like a problem, with noise and traffic, yet while in the temple or even on the temple grounds you rarely think of or hear the traffic nearby.

The St. Louis Temple gleamed before us as we drove to it. It was out of St. Louis a ways, among trees and fields, in a beautiful area. Flowers were everywhere, and there were large grass fields around the entire temple that were a vibrant green. We took our picture out in front of the temple, and then went through the temple. It was a bigger temple, and was wonderful. As most other temples, the Celestial room was gorgeous with a large chandelier, where we stood under and kissed slightly as we do in every temple. We had a wonderful experience in the St. Louis Temple.
Afterwards we went to downtown St. Louis, which was fun. We explored the State Capitol building, then went and toured the Gateway Arch, which was great. Definitely recommended if ever in the city. It gives good history of the city, and also a great view of the city and the Mississippi River.

Our time in St. Louis was short, but fun. We were sad to leave and wished we had more time, yet there was still more to see on our short trip. We drove through Missouri, and stayed the night in the small, famous town of Branson Missouri. It was a fun little town, yet we were there on a Sunday and so weren't able to do anything or see any shows.
Our drive home was beautiful, as we drove through the Ozarks of Arkansas. The forests and hills were extremely scenic, and the road through the hills, although longer than the highway, gave beautiful views. We got home late Sunday night, having had a great trip.

It amazed us what we could do in a weekend, and we loved what we had done. We had done two new temples, seen some Church history sites, and felt the spirit immensely. It was a fantastic little trip! Your weekend may be short, yet if you push yourself a little, you can do so much!
