Temple #30

Often things may seem to interrupt your life, causing a difficulty or hassle. At times, these things can be looked at with a positive view, and that changes everything. Just as having a cup half full or half empty of water, at least you have water.
One of these instances occurred to Ivy and I in Hawaii when we went a while back. Our flight was cancelled, and many people were upset. We could have been angry like some people, who wanted to be home, yet we were ecstatic, because it meant we were to spend one more day in Hawaii! We made the best of it and did a fun hike.
As another result of this we were given some flight vouchers that amounted to a few hundred dollars with that airline. So for Christmas I used these vouchers and bought Ivy and I round trip tickets to Seattle Washington!
We made plans, and wanted to go to all the Washington State temples. Of course, Ivy’s parents were a little envious, and so they decided to join us. We were more than happy to have them travel alongside us.
We first flew into Bellingham Washington, while Vera and Darcy had gotten flights into Seattle. They rented a car, and picked us up. Our first stop was Vancouver Canada, which we were all excited for.
Vancouver was a fairly pretty city, but the best part about it are the mountains to the north of it. That is where we first went, to a park called Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, which was exciting and gorgeous. The greenery in the Vancouver area is beyond amazing. The Capilano bridge was also quite fun.
Afterwards we went into Vancouver, which is an alright city. While there we happened upon a poutine shop, where we all tried the delicious, heart stopping meal of French fries and odd toppings. It was delicious, yet different.

The next day we went straight to the temple, which got us all excited. It was the first temple on our trip, so we couldn't wait. It was a little difficult to find, since our phones didn't work in Canada and we didn't have a map, yet we eventually found it.
The grounds were beautiful, and the area around was as well. A wonderful thing about the Vancouver area is that everything is a bright or dark green, and it's gorgeous.
The temple was great when we went inside. It was brilliant white and cream, and stain glass in many windows. The murals mimicked the mountains and scenery just outside of Vancouver, which is always neat. Many temples do the same thing, making them unique, and also fitting for where they are located.
It was hard finding the temple, but it all worked out. Never give up when looking for the temple, and never give up looking for Christ. He is always there, and we just need to always be searching for him and his hand in our lives.
Vancouver was great, but we couldn't wait to move on to our next temple, so we left Canada, and crossed back into the United States. We had a great time, and couldn't wait to feel the spirit within another new temple.
