Toronto Canada Temple

Our trip home continued, and we were headed to Canada! After Palmyra we made our way to Toronto. We of course stopped by Niagara Falls where we first checked it out from the American side. It was amazing and beautiful, yet still cold.
We then went to cross the border and had a funny encounter with the border guard. He first looked at our car with a confused smirk on his face, most likely because of how packed it was with our clothes and belongings. He then asked us what we were doing and why we were going to Canada. We explained a little of how we moved to Texas then Pennsylvania and now home. He asked what I did for work, and I told him I'm a carpenter. He laughed and said, “They must pay carpenters good out there, I could never take nine months off work to travel.” He laughed and so did we and we drove on.
Thinking back on it, we were definitely blessed to be able to do all we had done and hardly work. We couldn't have done it without family, friends, being cheap, or faith.
We made it into Canada and checked out Niagara Falls from the Canadian side, and it was even more spectacular. There is a feeling of magnitude and awe as you look at some of the largest waterfalls on earth. It was amazing.
We were now in Canada, without any cell service, and had to travel the old way, using road signs and luck. We eventually made it to Toronto, and got to the temple. It appeared right before us on a main road, giving us a feeling of joy and relief as we made it there.
The temple looked a lot like the Denver temple, and apparently had a similar floor plan. It's shorter with a tall steeple in the middle, and has a big patch of grass in front, yet was covered in snow when we went.
We went and did a session and it was similar to the Denver temple, and it was beautiful as all temples are. Some temples don't have things too memorable, and are just like many others, as was the Toronto temple, so we don't remember much about it, only that we were happy to be there and to have made it.
The temple was about twenty miles from downtown Toronto, but we still went to downtown. We were excited to see it but it was completely foggy and we couldn't see the top of the buildings. For a moment we saw the CN Tower, and a few other buildings, but overall it was a cold letdown, so we left downtown and headed West, onward to our next temple.
One thing we learned from this experience was that we could get to the temple even without our phones or cell service. We prepared before and knew the address, and were ready when we got to Canada to have no service. We learned that we needed to always be prepared, and have faith it would work out, which it did. We only got lost and turned around once, but we made it easily to our goal. We sure do love the temples!
