Snowflake Arizona Temple

Temple #27
Snowflake, Arizona
November 21, 2014

Snowflake Arizona was our next and last temple in Arizona. It was a little ways away from the rest. We cut through the heart of Arizona and took the scenic route. We drove passed Petrified Forest National Park, which was a little disappointing to be honest, yet still fun. We then went up and over some mountains, passing through forests of pine trees and Beware of Elk signs. It was a pretty drive at that point, with a pretty sunset on the way.
We finally arrived in the small town of Snowflake, and went straight to the Temple. It was closed, but we had to see it lit up at night, for at night all temples are beautiful.
We had a funny little hotel there that fed us a questionable breakfast. We shared a room with Ivy's parents and her grandma, just as we had done every other night. It's best to travel with others, because it makes for some fun and interesting entertainment sometimes, and is also cheaper. Although Vera, Darcy and Grandma Ivy all snore every night, it was still worth it.
It was a little cooler there in Snowflake, but still fairly warm compared to the Northern Utah weather. In the morning we got a quick picture in front of the red rock fountain, and then went inside.
The Snowflake Temple is another small temple, yet bigger than the Monticello Temple. It was fun, and had some unique features of its own. We went upstairs, and saw throughout the Temple things relating to the area. There were Native American rugs, pottery and paintings throughout the temple, and they were all gorgeous. It was neat to see the culture from the area included in the decorations of the temple.
After the Native American decorated Temple, we left the small, but beautiful region of Snowflake and headed towards New Mexico. Snowflake was our last Temple in Arizona, and it was a great one to end on.
