Temple #29

It had been a while since we had gone to a new Temple. We don't travel very often in the winter, and were glad to finally go to a new temple. It was a new year, and were so excited to finally do our first new temple for the year!
Our trip was planned a while before we went. It started off with Ivy working for the Canyons Ski Resort, which was an awesome job for both of us since we both got free season passes. The passes covered for any Vail Ski Resort in the world. There was one in Colorado, and so we made plans and headed to Colorado!
We started our drive going through Vernal, passing the beautiful temple there. We then went through the Rocky Mountains, which was a very pretty, scenic drive. Eventually we made it to Denver, where we went straight to the temple. It was a long drive there that day, but totally worth it when we pulled up to the temple.
The temple was gorgeous, with flowers blooming and the water fountain was on. It was fairly warm and the clouds were a great background to the white temple that day, as so were the towering Rocky Mountains in the distance.
We went through the temple and did a session, which was spiritual as always. The Denver temple wasn't anything new or unique, yet it was wonderful. We had tried to go to the temple regularly, with the Salt Lake City Temple being our temple back home, but it was nice to go to a new temple.
After the temple we drove up to Silverthorne, a small town in the Rockies, where we stayed at a hotel. The next morning we went to Breckenridge Resort, which was incredible, and free. The top peak was at 13,000 feet, providing an breathtaking view, and it was an amazing day of snowboarding.

Afterwards we went back to Denver, and explored downtown. We were surprised when we got there, because the streets were nearly empty. We never figured out why, but heard that the streets are usually empty on the weekends. The walking street downtown was a different story though. It was a fun street with lots of entertainment and good places to eat.
We stayed the night in Denver, and the next day we drove home through Cheyenne Wyoming, and eventually made it home.
It was a fantastic trip, which we did over a weekend. Luckily we both had the Friday off, making it easier. The Denver Temple was amazing and beautiful, and totally worth the trip. As we have said, we make every trip worth it by going to a temple. That's our goal, and we are fulfilling our dreams!
