Columbia River, Washington

Columbia River, Washington
Temple #32

The Columbia River Temple was our next stop in the scenic state of Washington. We headed west towards Richland Washington. As you may learn, or already know, we love nature and I especially love waterfalls. There are dozens if not hundreds of waterfalls in Washington, and so I had many stops I wanted to make on this trip.
One of the waterfalls we stopped by was the Palouse Waterfall. It was a beautiful and large waterfall, and very pretty area around it. We took some pictures, walked around, and then continued on our way. The drive was once again beautiful as we headed more west.

We came to Richland Washington, which is where the Snake River from Idaho and the Columbia River from Washington converge. We made our way to the temple, where we did a session. Whenever we do two temples in a day we try to do a combination of sealings and a session. This way we get to experience more aspects of the temple as we go. We always make sure to see the Celestial room though in every temple we go to.
The Columbia River Temple is a small temple, yet larger than the Spokane Temple. It has a little different design than most of the smaller temples, with the spire rising from the center. It got its name from the Columbia River, which flows not too far away, and is a beautiful river.
As you may be able to tell, there were flowers blooming, and the day was beautiful. One thing we have noticed at many temples is that the temple's grounds are always well done, and even when flowers shouldn't be blossoming, the temples will still have flowers. It's a wonderful thing that makes going to the temple not just spiritually pleasing by eye pleasing as well.
The Columbia River Temple was great to see, and although we wished to stay longer and see more, we had to continue on our way. We followed the Columbia River, and made our way to Oregon, being right on the border as we drove along the river. The areas around the Columbia River were also breathtaking and beautiful. We came to the quaint town of The Dalles, where we found a hotel and stayed the night.
We had spent most of the day in the car, driving for over six hours, and going to two different temples, and it was a blast. Although most of the day was spent sitting, it was a tiring day, spiritually and physically, but completely wonderful.
