Dallas Texas

Temple #37
Dallas, Texas
September 19, 2015

Living in Texas! It was quite the adventure, especially living in the country. We had skunks on our porch, possums in our backyard, and mice and squirrels in our home. Thunderstorms and heavy rains, and humid, hot days were common. We were in Texas and enjoying it.
The job we had was fun as well. Ivy would make cookies and check people into cabins, and I would build things from benches to new walls in cabins. It had kept us fairly busy, but we finally found some time to go to Dallas.
We drove to Dallas on a weekend, which was only about two hours away for us. We drove up to the temple, going through a nice neighborhood to get there. When we pulled up to it, it instantly brought back memories.
On my mission I was able to go to the Dallas Temple once, the day before I went home, which was a tradition our mission did. It was fun to now go back and be reminded of when I was last there with my mission friends.
The Dallas temple is unique and different in a few ways. The Chicago and and Boise temples are exactly like it though, and are called its sister temples. They have the same design of six spires, and a pitched roof, yet this is unique compared to many other temples.
We hurried and found a nice lady to take our picture, and then went inside and did a session. It was beautiful inside, and we enjoyed a wonderful session. The flowers were bright and the grass very green, and it had just rained, which brought out the colors. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time.
Afterwards we went to Arlington, which was where I served for a year on my mission. It was fun to drive around Arlington and be familiar with all the streets. We drove to the Rangers stadium and went to a baseball game, which was something I had wanted to do my entire mission. From one of my apartments on my mission we could see the Ranger stadium, and hear the games played there, along with the games at the Cowboys stadium.

The game was fun, although the Rangers lost, but George Bush was there amongst the crowd supporting the team. It was a fun Saturday, and we made the two hour drive home after the game.
We had now done two temples in Texas, but we had just started. There were many more we had planned to do in the area, and were more than excited to continue our goal!
