Meridian Idaho Temple

Temple 110

Meridian, Idaho

Here’s another Idaho temple! Meridian is only about twenty-five minutes away from the Boise temple so of course we were going to do it while up in Boise. We had stayed the night at Ivy’s cousin’s house and she lives in Nampa which is only twenty minutes from the Meridian temple. We slept in a little and then headed to the temple. It’s not like the Boise temple in location, but is out in the middle of fields and at the edge of town. It was quiet and nice to go out to the temple away from the busier parts of the city.
The Meridian temple is squarish in shape, with different tiers, but from above looks more like a ‘+’ symbol. It somewhat has a short, stubby steeple, but it does have an Angel Moroni on top of it. The square shape reminded us of the Cardston and Mesa temples. We were excited that the temple was unique in shape and was out of town because then we were able to fly a drone around it and get some videos and pictures from above. We flew it around, got our pictures and videos, and then went inside.
When we went inside we were instantly greeted by a giant painting of Christ, which is always great to remind us of why we are there. Every corner of the temple has a stairwell and we went to the second floor to begin the session. The first room, the Telestial room, had a beautiful mural of Idaho mountains with elk, a mountain lion, an owl, a raccoon, and birds in it. The next room was white and bright as all Terrestrial rooms are, and the Celestial room was amazing as always. It’s in the center of the temple and under the spire, which makes the ceiling in the Celestial room so tall. Near the top of the temple were stained glass windows with flowers in them.
After the session we immediately went and did sealings which were on the top floor. The workers were very accommodating, some of the most accommodating workers ever. We then went outside and took pictures around the temple of us. There’s a pond to the west of the temple that beautifully reflects the temple. The temple grounds are covered in flowers and is very well done, and it also looks over an equestrian park. We loved the temple grounds and spent a while just walking around the temple taking pictures.
For the rest of the day we did a hike that overlooked all of Boise. Boise itself isn’t the most beautiful city, but it was still a pretty view. We then explored downtown Boise and ate at a restaurant that was all about french fries. We had a fun time in Boise and were glad we came. The next day on our way home we stopped by the Twin Falls temple and took some pictures, and then headed home. It was a fun and successful trip, and we had a lot of fun. We were able to see some family, see three different temples, and explore a new city. Who knew Boise could be so fun!
