Edmonton, Alberta Canada Temple

Temple #80

Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Another temple trip here we go! For those who have read our blog you've probably realized that every trip we do, we go for the temples. This is completely true for mostly all of our trips. This next trip I'm writing about we had wanted to do for nearly two years but hadn't had the time. We finally found some time, convinced Ivy's parents to join us, than booked some flights.
The trip was planned around going to Jasper and Banff National Parks and that was why we first wanted to go, but then the trip changed a little and we planned on going to the Edmonton and Calgary Temples.
We first flew into Edmonton then rented a car. It's always fun going to Canada just for the little things that are different, including the food.
We drove to the temple first thing and took some pictures. It was easy to find, being right off the freeway as many temples are.
The Edmonton temple is a small temple, a cookie cutter temple, and looks and is designed like most of the temples built at the same time. We went inside with Ivy's parents and did sealings. One of the old men doing sealings was actually the architect of the temple which was neat. He told us a little about the temple and little things he changed to make it different.
After our short time at the temple we went to downtown Edmonton just to check it out, and then went to our hotel. The next day we drove to Jasper National Park, which was a somewhat boring drive until we came upon a long wall of mountains. Jasper was gorgeous and magnificent. The mountains towered around us, and there was so many scenic spots.

We drove throughout Jasper, seeing many moose, big horn sheep, waterfalls, glaciers and lakes. We were blown away at the beauty and size of the mountains. We then drove down what has been called “the most beautiful highway in the world” by many people. The Many Glaciers Highway was indeed amazing, and we drove it again another day for fun.
We loved Jasper, enjoyed Edmonton, and were so excited to continue our vacation! Although the Edmonton temple was small we still enjoyed it and were so happy to have gone. It was the best way to start our little vacation in Alberta Canada!
